Modern Slavery Statement

Our Commitment

Staywell Care Services Ltd is committed to preventing modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, and exploitation in all aspects of our business and supply chains. We recognise our responsibility to act ethically, with integrity, and in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

As a provider of homecare services, we are committed to protecting the welfare, dignity, and rights of our employees, service users, contractors, and anyone connected with our operations.

Our Organisation

Staywell Care Services Ltd is a domiciliary/homecare provider operating in South- East of England. We provide care and support services to individuals in their own homes.

Our workforce consists of care workers, support staff, management personnel, and administrative employees. We also engage a limited number of suppliers and service providers to support our operations, including recruitment agencies, training providers, IT services, office suppliers, and personal protective equipment (PPE) suppliers.

Our Supply Chains

Given the nature and size of our organisation, our supply chains are relatively straightforward and primarily UK-based. Key suppliers include:

  • Recruitment and staffing agencies
  • Training and professional development providers
  • Office and care equipment suppliers
  • IT and telecommunications providers
  • Cleaning, PPE, and consumable suppliers

We recognise that risks of modern slavery can exist within any supply chain and remain vigilant when selecting and working with suppliers.

Policies and Procedures

We maintain policies and procedures designed to promote ethical business practices and reduce the risk of modern slavery, including:

  • Recruitment Policy
  • Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Policy
  • Whistleblowing Policy
  • Safeguarding Policy
  • Grievance and Disciplinary Procedures
  • Code of Conduct for Employees

These policies support fair treatment, lawful employment practices, and the reporting of concerns without fear of retaliation.

Due Diligence

To minimise the risk of modern slavery within our organisation, we:

  • Verify employees’ identity and right to work in the UK.
  • Conduct safer recruitment checks where required.
  • Ensure employment is freely chosen and not subject to coercion.
  • Pay employees in accordance with applicable employment legislation and minimum wage requirements.
  • Seek to work with reputable suppliers and service providers.
  • Investigate any concerns raised regarding unethical employment practices.

Risk Assessment

As a small homecare provider operating primarily within the UK, we consider the risk of modern slavery within our direct workforce to be low. However, we recognise that potential risks may arise through:

  • Temporary staffing arrangements
  • Agency workers
  • Procurement of goods and services from third-party suppliers

We monitor these areas and take appropriate action if concerns are identified.

Training and Awareness

Managers and staff are encouraged to remain alert to indicators of modern slavery and exploitation. Relevant safeguarding and workforce training includes awareness of:

  • Human trafficking
  • Labour exploitation
  • Coercion and abuse
  • Reporting procedures for concerns

Staff are expected to report any suspicions through established safeguarding and whistleblowing channels.

Reporting Concerns

Any employee, contractor, service user, or stakeholder who has concerns about potential modern slavery or human trafficking is encouraged to report them immediately to management.

Reports will be treated seriously and investigated appropriately. Where necessary, concerns will be referred to relevant authorities.
