Our service provision is based on our operational values and principles of care. It is Staywell Care Services Ltd’s belief that, for services to be effective, they should be based on sound values and principles and an understanding of the fundamental and individual needs of the service user. The service values and principles we will seek to apply are as follows:
The rights of citizenship are safeguarded for all Service Users. Work should be conducted in a manner that facilitates empowerment and makes appropriate use of advocacy.
All individuals, whatever their circumstances, have the right to be treated with dignity and respect.
The right of individuals to be left alone or undisturbed and free from intrusion or public attention into their affairs.
Services are designed to be accessible and flexible, promoting ordinary lifestyles and based upon Service User’s own choices. Individual choice is promoted, within the limits imposed by service constraints.
The right to confidentiality will be maintained and safeguarded. Information kept about Service Users, their families and carers will be made available to those individuals on request, in compliance with data protection legislation and will only be given to other agencies as required by law, in exceptional circumstances to prevent harm to the Service User or, with the permission of the Service User or (where appropriate) their representative.
Service User (or anybody legally acting on their behalf) must give consent before any care or treatment is given to you.
We will be transparent in how much services cost and must give Service Users who require care the opportunity to manage their care themselves if they wish.
Service Users will be supported to maintain independence. Services are aimed at maximising the individual’s capacity for self-care and mobility.
Staywell Care Services Ltd will have a robust risk management policy that promotes the principle of risk enablement.
Staywell Care Services Ltd will ensure Service Users are involved in highlighting risks, managing those risks, and can take risks wherever possible. Each Service User should have a clear risk management plan in place that is regularly reviewed with the person using the service.
Service Users have the right to be listened to and be fully informed on all aspects of their care and support.
All Service Users are entitled to make decisions about their daily lives and activities. This may, from time to time, result in a conflict between ensuring safety and maximizing independence, we will work with people to support their decisions to take reasonable risks.
The value of the contribution of carer and family support is fully recognised. The needs of carers providing, or intending to provide, regular or substantial care is, where requested, assessed independently of the needs of the Service User. The outcome of the assessment is taken into account when agreeing Care Plans.
